Today we are going to learn about Ireland with National Geographic for Kids. You can click here to find some great pictures and information about Ireland. We are making green playdough today to go with our St. Patrick's theme. We are learning about the number 4 this week so this we are going to do some measuring and counting with numbers today. Make sure to have your children help with this. I can get extra messy with the help of children but the skills they are learning is all worth it, trust me :).

Sit with your children while they are coloring and talk about what they see in the picture (see questions below if you’d like some ideas). This is a time for observation before the story is read and for children to share their thoughts on what they see in the picture and what they are thinking. It’s okay if they do not answer the questions correctly, allow them to share their thoughts. Your discussion will lead into the Jesus The King Arrives story you will read later together.
- What do you see in this picture? (A man, a donkey, palm branches, shirts, people)
- Who do you think the man is that is riding on the donkey? (Jesus)
- What are the people putting on the ground? (Palm fronds, branches or leaves, cloaks; any answer is great)
- Do the people look happy or sad to see Jesus? (Happy)
- Does Jesus look happy? (Yes)
